Italy Serie A Betting Odds & Lines – Bet on 2023/24 Serie A

Serie A is the leading professional soccer league in Italy and one of Europe’s top three leagues, behind only England’s Premier League and Spain’s La Liga . Dominated by legendary European clubs like Juventus, Inter, and AC Milan, Serie A has long attracted the very best soccer players in the world.

Here, we explain everything you need to know about Italy’s Serie A for the 2023/24 season and introduce you to the different Italian soccer bets you can place throughout the season at the Stake Sportsbook .

When is the Serie A 2023/24?

Following the disruption caused by last year’s World Cup, Serie A 2023/24 returns to a standard schedule and format. The first fixtures will commence on Saturday, 19 August 2023, and the season will end on Sunday, 26 May 2024, when the Serie A champions will be crowned.

Napoli get the season underway with their visit to Frosinone, a fixture that pits the Serie A champions against the Serie B winners. Will Napoli retain their crown this season after waiting so many years to win their third Scudetto?

History of Serie A

The Italian Serie A is one of the oldest professional soccer leagues in Europe and was established in 1929, though it has changed over the years since its launch.

Inter Milan have spent an incredible 93 seasons in Serie A and are the only team to have played in Italy’s top flight every year since its inception.

The league was modified in the 2004/05 season to include 20 teams, which shows how many squads compete in the division.

The Old Lady of Italian soccer, Juventus, are Italy’s most successful team, with 36 titles to their name. Inter Milan and their city neighbours AC both have 19 titles and 16 runners-up medals apiece - incredible synergy for such fierce rivals.

When Napoli lifted the Scudetto at the end of the 2023 season, it was their third Serie A triumph and their first since a Diego Maradona-inspired team won the crown in 1989-90.

Which Teams Play in the Serie A 2023/24?

Twenty professional soccer teams in Italy contest the 2023/24 Serie A. Sampdoria, Cremonese and Spezia were all relegated at the end of the last campaign and replaced by newcomers Frosinone, Genoa, and Cagliari, who all won promotion from Serie B .

All eyes will be on Napoli again this season, and if they manage to keep hold of their star man Victor Osimhen, there’s no reason why the Naples outfit can’t claim their fourth title in May 2024.

The full roster of Serie A teams for the 2023/24 season is as follows:

  • Atalanta: Based in Bergamo, Atalanta first competed in Serie A in 1937–38 and finished 5th in the 2022–23 season. While they have played 63 seasons in the top flight, they're still in search of their first title.
